![]() ![]() Then trace those pins to the main connector and move it to pin 29. But if you wanna do it cleaner you can cut and splice into some of the useless wires like the knock sensor (this doesnt use a knock sensor), vam wires, or stock Oxygen sensor. I cut the wire right at the harness and tapped into it right there as you will no longer be using your stock O2 sensor. That wire has to be tapped into the main harness into pin 29. With the jumpers its not that bad it all depends on you injectors and if your a 4/6/8 cylinder and if you want launch control, Nitrous, EDIS, yadda yadda. The first thing you need to do is set the jumpers correctly per your vehicle and your setup. ***Note you dont need to do this if you want to stick with your old school way of trigger the fan on. For me it was cake though because I have a mainly stock 88 Turbo Coupe we are already setup that way. When you go to a PIMP you will be setting up a relay and trigger wire into the ECU so you will be able to tell the computer when you want the fans on. ![]() They make you do this because on the older Fords the fans kicked on via a basic relay that's on some kind of temp controlled switch. On SVOs and Merkurs the fan controls will have to be setup on a relay which is no big deal. When I say its setup for a 87-88 turbo coupe what I mean is you need to wire in a ACT sensor which is in the lower intake. Its based off a 87-88 Turbo Coupe setup but it can be made to work with any old OBD1 Ford thou. Its basically a gutted OBD 1 Ford ECU fitted with a Microsquirt with the Ford harness connector. ![]() The best thing about this is you get to throw that VAM meter in the garbage and convert it to Speed Density :yup. You can now fully tweak the ecu and datalog as much as your little heart desired. It goes for around $700ish and is sold by a company that specializes in Ford 2.3 Turbo engine stuff STINGER PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING - 2.3 Turbo Performance Parts for Mustang SVO, Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, Merkur XR4Ti, Pinto, Ranger, and Sand Rails. Which is a ready to go pre assembled MicroSquirt ECU. ![]()
